All Pierogi Kitchen & Euro Market– Mesa Arizona

When we arrived it was not really full, but we had to stand in the front area and wait a bit until we were seated and we were seated in the back right by the kitchen which wasn't the most convenient place for me get to or sit at. Eventually our waitress came to take our orders 

I had the six Pierogi plate and got half cheddar and potato and the other half I got cabbage and mushrooms these came with little dishes of bacon, sour cream and caramelized onions.. I really enjoyed the cabbage and mushrooms the most.  I thought the potato cheddar ones were good too but were rather filling and filled me up really fast. 

Dad had the kielbasa and pierogis plate that also came with some sort of sauerkraut stew and he didn’t particularly like it but I thought was good although I wouldn’t exactly call it a stew it just seemed like regular sauerkraut. Mom also had a pierogi plate with I can't remember what kinds.  

  Before our meals came they brought a basket of bread which was just okay nothing too exciting and a salad which had some sort of vinaigrette type dressing that was little bit different but okay.  I ate until I was stuffed and couldn’t hold anymore and wasn’t able to finish my plate.  When it was time to pay for our meal they brought out a tablet with a credit card scanner connected to it.  I really enjoyed our meal here and I can’t wait to return especially for some more cabbage and mushroom pierogis.

Haus Murphy's– Glendale Arizona

We stopped at our Favorite German Place in Glendale, AZ which was on Diners Drive-ins and Dives quite a few years ago. Since we visited the first time we've been going once a year ever since. We got there fairly early for dinner probably five-ish and it was St. Patrick's Day so they had corned beef and cabbage as their special, but I was here for the German food. 

I ordered my favorite Schnitzel; the paprika schnitzel which is a pork schnitzel with a paprika, bacon and onion gravy.  This came with Wirsing which is some sort of creamed cabbage and fried potatoes this was excellent as it always is. The Wirsing and fried potatoes were both excellent and I thought went perfectly with the schnitzel. 

This also came with a cup of soup, every time we’ve been here there has been a different soup which have all been excellent and this time was no exception. This time it was some sort of creamy chicken soup and it was really good. We had another excellent meal at Haus Murphy's and I can't wait to return next year.

Tortas Chano – Anthem Arizona

We made our yearly trip to Tortas Chano and even though it was a Thursday and they had tamales, I wanted to try something new this time.  

 

So, I got the enchilada plate and I decided to get one beef and one cheese enchilada. This was really good and I'm not sure which one I liked better, but I really liked having the combination of both the beef and the cheese. These weren’t anything crazy or really too different, just excellent enchiladas.  The rice and beans were pretty good to go along with this. Dad also had to enchilada plate which he really liked as well and mom had the chili Relleno this time. 

This was a little different than some chili Rellenos I’ve seen, mostly because it was covered in a red sauce. She thought it was really good. We had another solid lunch at Tortas Chano once again the food wasn’t  anything crazy or fancy,  but was just good solid authentic Mexican food.
