I met a friend at Moes original barbecue. We went in and you have to order at the front end of the bar their special was southern fried chicken ($10) which is what I got. It came with two sides and cornbread for my sides picked the pork chili which was one of their sides of the day, and the potato salad. My friend got their rib platter with baked beans and potato salad, both of our meals with drinks. We went to fill our drinks up and waited for our meals to come and they said it would be at least 10 minutes for the chicken. In not to long they brought out our meals.
Mine was half a chicken which is lot for me, I started into it and it was really hot which is good. I ate some of the smaller pieces and I thought it was pretty good, not the best fried chicken I’ve had but it tasted pretty good. I really liked the pork chili; it was kind of soupy which is how I prefer chili. It was also filled with chilies and onions. The flavor was good and had a little bit of a kick, but not too much. I actually liked the cornbread which is something I normally don't, it was a little sweet and there were bits of peppers throughout not very hot but it did taste good. The potato salad was alright but not really that exciting. I was thinking this was pretty good and I had quite a bit to take home. However when I was eating the leftovers and got to the breast I peeled back the outside skin and thought it might be easier to just try to pull some of the meat off. When I did this I saw a red streak in there and kind of pressed down and blood squeezed out, and for some reason I couldn’t finish my leftovers.
I am not giving Moe’s a star rating because of having two completely different stories, good food, but not everything cooked fully. Which I will give them the benefit of the doubt and say it must have been a fluke.
