Laguna burger was featured on cheap eats on the cooking
channel for their Laguna burger combo which is a green chili cheeseburger with
fries. Once I saw this I knew we had to stop. The only problem was the timing
because they don’t start selling burgers until 10:30 AM. But they do serve
breakfast including breakfast burritos before that. So on this morning I woke
up and almost felt more like having a breakfast burrito. We drove from
Albuquerque about 20 miles west on I-40 to Exit 140 and found Laguna burger
which is in a gas station at the same exit as a casino. When we got there it
was about 10:20 and they said they would start selling burgers in about 10
minutes. So we just decided to get breakfast burritos which were up on the
counter in the warmer which you grab and then go pay for I got mine with bacon
which I got the last one and mom and dad both got theirs with sausage.
This
burrito just came wrapped up in foil and was just pretty much a basic burrito
and with no sauce or anything to put on top, but once I bit into it there
wasn’t any need for any more heat or anything. There was already a good amount of heat in it
because of the green chiles. Also inside
was potatoes and eggs. This was a pretty good burrito and I enjoyed it very
much although I thought the filing was a little dry.
I thought this was the
perfect thing to start our long day of driving. However I was a bit
disappointed that I didn’t get to try the item they’re famous for, but it gives
me something to look forward to. I am not doing a star rating for this place
because I want to try with their famous for before doing that.
