Black bear diner – Colorado Springs Colorado

March 19, 2017

This was our last meal of the trip and I wasn't really hungry, so I figured I'd order the small club sandwich.

When it arrived it was still a good-sized sandwich and it had turkey, ham, bacon and cheese along with lettuce and tomato. I thought this sandwich was pretty good.  This also came with a side dish and I decided to pick the Parmesan chips which were very good as well, but it was a ridiculous amount of them and I barely made a dent in them.

Dad got the Reuben with French fries

and mom got the 1/2 sandwich and soup which was a potato soup and she got the tuna sandwich. At Black bear diner we had pretty good sandwiches that weren’t the greatest meals, but it was a decent meal to end our trip with.

Tecolote Cafe– Santa Fe New Mexico

March 19, 2017

On the drive home from Phoenix every year I always look forward to eating in Santa Fe.  Years ago Tecolote Cafe was on Diners Drive in's and Dives and we visited and enjoyed it very much.  Since then they ended up closing for a while, then they reopened recently in a new location so we decided to visit and check them out again. We ended up getting here closer to lunchtime, but I was still wanting breakfast so I ordered a breakfast burrito with bacon and Christmas style with red and green chili.  Dad had a burrito with sausage and also Christmas style and mom had some sort of breakfast with green chili. All these came with a bakery basket.

Soon after we ordered the bakery basket arrived with three each of biscuits, muffins and cinnamon rolls along with butter and strawberry jam.  Everything in this basket was absolutely delicious. After we ate some of these our plates arrived.

My burrito was a pretty big burrito and had the fried potatoes on the side.  The potatoes I thought were good, but they did need a little salt.  My burrito was excellent and what usually happens is I can't tell which chili was better, and this is what happened here.  I very much enjoyed both the red and green chili and the burrito itself. Once we were done eating or as much as we could eat we asked for a box for our rest of our bakery basket and the waiter laughed and said absolutely not and then laughed again and went and got a box and brought it back and even brought lids for the butter and the jam so we could take those with us too. We had a rather large breakfast and still had quite a bit of the bakery basket to take with us and were able to enjoy them later.  I was rather happy with our meal at Tecolote Cafe and can't wait to return sometime in the future.

Blake's Lotaburger – Gallup New Mexico

March 18, 2017

We were driving through New Mexico and it was almost dinner time and we were close to Gallup, New Mexico and I looked on my phone and found a Blake's Lotaburger on the map. I had seen quite a few Blake's Lotaburger's in the past while driving through New Mexico and kind of always wondered if it was any good. So we decided to stop at one of the locations in Gallup New Mexico.

We went up to the counter I ordered a green chili cheeseburger combo with fries, my mom got the green chili burger without cheese and my dad got cheese and bacon and no green chiles

The green chiles were a bit hot, but tasty and I'm sure glad I had cheese in there to help cool it down a bit

the fries with this we're alright maybe not the best they were good. I thought Blake's Lotaburger was pretty good and a very good fast food type place.
