Su Casa café -Sinclair Wyoming

August 15, 2018

My parents and I were driving to Ogden, Utah and we had a tip from my cardiologist that this place was good so we decided to stop here at Su Casa café.  We were here about 1 o’clock or so and the place was absolutely packed and we had to wait probably about 45 minutes. When we finally had a table it was a huge round table for eight for just the three of us.  There were two tables and the rest were booths which I couldn’t use.

After we were seated they brought chips and salsa. The salsa was pretty good but a bit different.  It was served warm and it had the normal tomatoes and peppers, but I also think there was a bit of shredded meat and/or cheese maybe in it.

Soon after mom ordered the stuffed sopapilla with chicken I think. Dad and I both got the House Burrito. Not long after that our waitress brought my mom’s stuffed sopapilla out.  She thought this was pretty good and enjoyed it quite a bit. a few minutes later our waitress brought out the burritos and she tripped on the way and ended up spilling some of the chili on me, it was a bit warm but not as hot as I would’ve expected it to be, our waitress apologized multiple times and anyways I survived and started in on my burrito.

This Burrito was basically a chimichanga with beef and beans inside. This was nice and crispy and was topped with a really good green chili. The green chili included good sized chunks of pork and potatoes which I thought was a bit different but seems like a really good idea. Their menu was basically a la carte so the plates came with no sides. This was okay for me on this day. After this we were on our way happy as could be.

Chakas Mexican Restaurant - Denver Colorado

August 1, 2018

My parents and I stopped here for an early dinner. It was not too busy, but was filling up by the time we left. We were greeted and seated right away.  We had our drink orders taken and chips and salsa brought by the same guy. Then our waiter came and took our dinner orders.

This salsa was okay it was a little spicy and was fairly good but it was in too big of a bowl for the amount of salsa. These were regular chips but some were red and green.

I got the number 6 combo which had a beef burrito, cheese enchilada and a crispy chile relleno.  The beef burrito had a beef filling that was just ground beef mixed with some sort of sauce and I didn’t like it so much. The enchilada was good with a decent sauce and the cheese was not tough and chewy like you get in some places. The crispy chile relleno was all right but wasn’t so crispy with all the green chili on top. I really did enjoy the green chili, I had mine half-and-half so it was a bit spicy here and there and was very good. There was plenty of this chili smothering my burrito and chile relleno. My mom also had this combo but just got the mild green chili.

Dad had a Chimichanga with shredded beef and with half-and-half green chili.  He thought the beef was really good. But the rice and beans not so much.

If I was in the area again I might considering returning but won’t go a long way out of the way to eat at Chakas Mexican Restaurant.

Fat burger - Aurora Colorado

July 11, 2018

On my half birthday my parents and I visited Fat burger. We all three ordered a cheeseburger with everything. Dad and I both got onion rings and Mom got the wide fries.

Soon after our burgers were delivered to our table. Everything on the burger turned out to be pickles, lettuce, tomato, onion, mustard and sweet relish. I liked the idea of relish but didn’t particularly like the sweet version. I very much enjoyed my burger it was a very classic burger and very good.

The Onion rings were excellent they were good sized and the onion broke when you bit them. The fries weren’t so good. This was a good burger and great onion rings and I would definitely return.
