Copper Still Gilbert Arizona

This night we were actually going somewhere else, but it was closed, so we ended up here.  We were seated right away and had our drink orders taken and they were brought soon after.  After this we had to wait for what seemed like quite a while.  Once our waitress finally returned I ordered the steak sliders with fries, dad the steak phoenix (spicy cheesesteak) with fries and mom a turkey sandwich of some sort with a side salad.  After this we waited for a bit until moms salad was brought out.  She had some time to eat this and then the rest of the food arrived. 

 

My sliders came with three filled with thin sliced steak onions and provolone with horseradish on the bun, I was hoping the horseradish wouldn’t be to strong but it really wasn't. Along with this was a cup of au jus. I really enjoyed these sliders and it was a lot easier for me to eat than a regular size cheesesteak. Along with this the fries were battered fries which were very good.

 

Dad thought his cheesesteak was pretty good, but not really all that spicy.

 

Mom liked her sandwich and salad and actually ended up eating my leftovers when we got back to the hotel.

La Piñata Phoenix Arizona

After our spring training game for the day we decided to get Mexican food and try out La Piñata. So since it was right after a baseball game we were there early. Fairly quickly chips and salsa were brought and our drink orders were taken, once our drinks were brought we had some time to check out the menu. I wasn't so sure what to get so it took a little bit of time, but I eventually decided what I wanted to get and so did everyone else.  We still had to wait for quite a bit and finally after a long wait our waiter finally returned to take our orders.  I decided on a combo plate I can't remember what number but it was the green Chile burro and a cheese enchilada which came with rice and beans.

I think my mom got the Chile relleno plate and my dad got a beef chimichanga. I wasn't sure what to expect with my green Chile burro I didn't know if the green Chile was in it or smothered on top, but I figured I would try it out.  

 

 

We kept eating the chips and salsa which was really not to exciting but not awful or anything.

 

After a bit of a wait our food arrived and my green Chile burro just with the green Chile and pork inside and was actually pretty good and better than my cheese enchilada which was just ordinary. I also wasn't too excited about the Rice and beans.

 

 

Dad Thought his chimichanga was all right and a little different than typical, and definitely not the best he's ever had. This place had alright Mexican food but I have had quite a bit better in many different places.

Peoria Stadium Peoria Arizona

I had heard about the food at Peoria Stadium and that they have the best food in the cactus league. But after just reading a few things online I still wasn't exactly sure what to expect. So the first thing we did was to take a loop around the Stadium and what I found was just about everything; barbecue gyros, garlic fries, hot dogs, stir fried noodles, multiple kinds of sausages, Italian beef, Chicago dog's and so much more. A large chunk of these things were all right inside the gate to the first base or third base side.

 

But there was also plenty around the outfield concourse which is where I found the Chicago dog. I had mine with everything on it and while it wasn't the best Chicago dog it was decent enough and I had a coke to go along with it.

 

 

After this we found our way to our seats and a couple innings in I decided I had to get some garlic fries. And they sure didn't skimp on the garlic. These were quite tasty but maybe could've used a little more salt and the other problem was a lot of the garlic fell off into the bottom of the paper boat and was hard to scrape back up but other than those two things they were very good. I enjoyed my food at Peoria Stadium but I didn't even scrape the surface of what they have and could have gone to multiple games and never had the same food.

Grimaldis Scottsdale Arizona

We missed this place last year on our trip so we want to make sure to get here this time. This was a different location than we've been to. Once we found a parking spot in the shopping center we made our way to the door. But what we found when we got there were steps of the front. Dad went in and asked if there was a handicapped entrance and he was told to use the to go door on the side of the building. This was been a bit of a pain but I needed my pizza. Once we were inside and were seated basically are known we wanted. So we ordered three Pepsi's and when our waiter came back with them we ordered a large pepperoni pizza 18 inches. And not much time at all we had our pizza.

 

 

It was thin and a bit charred on the back topped with sauce pepperoni and cheese and was just about perfection. This was a very successful food day as we started off with bacon blueberry pancakes and finished with an excellent pizza.

Soul Café Scottsdale Arizona

After I read online about the blueberry Bacon pancakes how could we not make sure to get here to try them. And that's exactly what I ordered and they were delicious they were definitely the best pancakes I've ever had, but also the best breakfast I've ever had. It just started out with just a really good pancake then was filled with blueberries then when you add bacon, which makes just about everything better, you get the best pancake imaginable.

 

 

The meal came with two of these pancakes that were huge and I was only able to eat about half of them. This also came with two eggs which I got scrambled and I thought they were perfectly scrambled eggs. Dad also had these and

 

 

mom had the carrot cake pancakes with bacon.  Throughout the meal the service was kind of slow but we did get everything we needed. These pancakes were so good and even better than I expected and I cannot wait to return to get some more.
