Rocket Burger Phoenix Arizona

March 7, 2014

Rocket burger is known further hundreds of bottles of soda and their burgers and when reading reviews and looking at pictures online the onion rings looked great as well.

When we arrived for lunch there were only a few other people in the building.

The first thing I noticed was that the wall of refrigerators filled with sodas of every kind imaginable. So that's where we went first to find a soda to get, but this was a huge problem since there were hundreds of them root beers, cream sodas, fruit sodas, Mexican sodas, Italian sodas and everything else you could think of all in glass bottles .

So after a long search I picked a black cherry soda, dad got one of the many root beers and mom a cream soda. Then we went up to the counter to order lunch mom and I both got the single burger with the onion rings

and dad got a double with fries. From there we opened our sodas at the counter and took our number and found a table. Then before our food arrived I had enough time to figure out didn't make such a good soda choice and I would definitely get something else next time.

Then when our food did arrive the burger was very good maybe a little on the small side but was good for me.

The onion rings were really good and served with just a basic ranch. The outside of the onion ring had kind of a cornmeal breading which I wasn't sure about to start, but they sure were crispy and just fell apart. Instead of both getting onion rings mom and I could've got one side order and we would have had plenty of them. This was a very successful lunch and even though we didn't pick a soda that I enjoyed too much it was fun to look at all the sodas and try to figure out which one to get.

La Piazza Al Forno Glendale Arizona

March 6, 2014

This place was featured on Diners  Drive-ins and Dives years ago, so it has been on my list of places to visit for a while. This is also close to Haus Murphy's which was also shown on Diners  Drive-ins and Dives and is also a great place. After our first spring training game of the year at the Brewers Stadium which was not far away we were hungry for pizza. We walked in and were told to sit wherever we would like and shortly after our waitress came to take our drink orders we all three ordered Cokes.

She returned with three glasses of ice and three glass bottles of Coke on the back of the bottles said from Mexico. Not long after we were ready to order dad and I were thinking about getting two pizzas and splitting them but I mostly just wanted pepperoni and dad want to try the sausage the waitress told him he could do half-and-half pizzas too.

So my mom got the margarita pizza without anything added.  I did that too, but added pepperoni

and dad did the margarita with half pepperoni and half sausage which was a great idea except for they don’t tell you that you pay for the whole price for the pepperoni on the whole pizza and the whole price for sausage even though the topping was only on half the pizza.

So after ordering we waited a bit, but really not too long since they cook their pizzas at such a high temperature. So in just a little amount of time we had our pizzas.

This was a very good pizza I only actually only ended up eating the pepperoni but it was really good.  It didn't quite make it to the top of my pizza list, but it was still up there. Everything on it; the sauce cheese and pepperoni were all good and there was a perfect amount of basil not too much like I’ve had elsewhere. The only part I didn't particularly like was the crust where you hold on to was a little thicker than I like, but maybe it's how it's supposed to be for Neapolitan pizza. Mom really enjoyed hers and dad wasn't sure if his sausage or pepperoni was better. Just as we were finishing up our waitress took my dad's unfinished plate which he wasn't exactly happy with, but at least he still had the rest of his pizza in his hand. Soon thereafter we had our check and we paid and were filled with pizza and on our way.

US Egg Phoenix Arizona

March 6, 2014

On our first full day in Phoenix we were headed off to a baseball game our first spring training game of the year. We weren’t sure where to stop but on my Phoenix food list were some breakfast places on it including US egg which also had lunch so we would have choices.  Also they had a location between our hotel and the Brewers ballpark. When we arrived it was not too busy at all so we were seated right away and had our drink orders taken quickly two coffees and I had a water. By this time I didn't want breakfast anymore so I just read through the sandwich menu it didn't take me long to come up with my decision.

What I got was a turkey sandwich with a choice of side which I took fries.

Mom and dad both had a basic breakfast with eggs, sausage, hash browns and both picked an English muffin. This was your basic turkey sandwich and was not real exciting the fries were decent to go along with it. My parents said their breakfast was okay but nothing out of the ordinary or too exciting. This was basically what I thought about the whole place was it was an all right breakfast and lunch place but not much more than that.
