My parents and I stopped here for an early dinner. It was
not too busy, but was filling up by the time we left. We were greeted and
seated right away. We had our drink
orders taken and chips and salsa brought by the same guy. Then our waiter came
and took our dinner orders.
This salsa was okay it was a little spicy and was
fairly good but it was in too big of a bowl for the amount of salsa. These were
regular chips but some were red and green.
I got the number 6 combo which had a
beef burrito, cheese enchilada and a crispy chile relleno. The beef burrito had a beef filling that was
just ground beef mixed with some sort of sauce and I didn’t like it so much.
The enchilada was good with a decent sauce and the cheese was not tough and
chewy like you get in some places. The crispy chile relleno was all right but wasn’t
so crispy with all the green chili on top. I really did enjoy the green chili, I
had mine half-and-half so it was a bit spicy here and there and was very good.
There was plenty of this chili smothering my burrito and chile relleno. My mom
also had this combo but just got the mild green chili.
Dad had a Chimichanga with
shredded beef and with half-and-half green chili. He thought the beef was really good. But the
rice and beans not so much.
If I was in the area again I might considering
returning but won’t go a long way out of the way to eat at Chakas Mexican
Restaurant.
