Marco's Coal-Fired Pizzeria - Denver CO

June 15, 2013

I’ve been told that this place was good and since it is near Coors Field, it’s been on my list to try out for a while.  They are also certified by the Associazione Verace Pizza Napoletana, the only VPN certified pizzeria in the State of Colorado

My dad and I had ourselves a nice day out the day before father’s day, and this is where we started at for lunch before the Rockies game.  We arrived at noon and the place was just about empty.  So we were seated immediately.  We had a chance to look at the menu and had our drink orders taken both cokes, they were brought out shortly after.  We took a little bit more time looking over the menu.  When our waitress came back we were ready to order, we decided to split a large (12 inch) build your own Margherita ($12) with pepperoni added (2.50).

In a couple of minutes our waitress was back with plates and little dishes of parmesan cheese and red pepper flakes.

Then in a few minutes she brought out the pizza.  The crust was a little bit charred, but maybe a little bit soggy as well.  The toppings were good the pepperoni, the mozzarella and the sauce.  I thought there was too much basil, but that might just be me.

We both enjoyed this pizza, it was not the best but good and a good pregame meal.
