A-Town Pizza - Aurora CO

January 17, 2014

I had another doctor’s appointment in Aurora so I've been looking for places to eat for a while when I randomly came across A-Town Pizza while searching online and I'm not exactly sure where I found it. Also recently I've had a few good pizzas and now I am always on the lookout for a good pizza. So we arrived around five o'clock on a Friday night. Once inside the first thing I noticed was the wood fired oven. Quickly we were asked if we were dining in which we were and they told us to sit wherever we would like and our waitress came quickly to take our drink orders we all three ordered a Pepsi. After ordering our drinks I stopped at the restroom. When I came back my Pepsi was there waiting. Then I grabbed a menu that was sitting on the table to see what kind of pizza to order. All their pizzas on the menu are 11 inches. I wasn't exactly in the mood for a different kind of pizza; I wanted something fairly basic like pepperoni. Once I found the basic pepperoni pizza the #2 Short ($8.00) with Tomato Sauce, Fresh Mozzarella, and Pepperoni that's what I ordered. Mom ordered the #1 Missy ($8.00) with Tomato Sauce, Garlic, Fresh Mozzarella finished with Basil and Olive oil and dad the #17 Jordo ($9.00) with Tomato Sauce, Fresh Mozzarrella, and Sausage. When I ordered the waitress asked if I wanted olive oil and basil, so I went ahead and got that too. A few minutes later I was thinking about what we ordered and asked dad if he got olive oil and basil on his too, just as I was asking him our waitress came back out and asked him if we wanted it which he did. Quite quickly after this the three pizzas were brought out, but with their oven being so hot I’m sure it didn't take long to cook.

These three pizzas were similar with garlic pepperoni and sausage being the only changes. These pizzas were really good and up toward the top of the list of best pizzas I've ever had. It started with the really good crust and topped with crushed tomatoes and that's it according to their website and I believe them it seemed pretty basic but very good. There was also fresh mozzarella and mine with the pepperoni. The pepperoni was maybe not the greatest pepperoni and they were kind of small but the edges of them were kind of burnt in places which might be the best part pepperoni. They folded up into little round bowls basically.

Mom's pizza had very noticeable garlic and was really good too. I was not so excited about that sausage pizza but I'm not a big sausage fan most of the time. All these pizzas were brushed with olive oil and had strips of basil on top. And it was the perfect amount of basil and it wasn't potent as I've had it before. These pizzas are really quite basic but sometimes basic and simple is the best way to go.
